All obstacles are of natural construction and include water, banks, steps, stone walls, trechaners, ditches, coffins, oxers, triple logs, verticals logs, and various combinations. Divisions are provided to match the particular challenges of each course with rider experience level. Equicross (TM) works like this: Individual riders compete, by division, over a course of obstacles determined by experience and qualifications level. Riders are judged on how successfully they navigate the course of obstacles and how close they come to the optimum time. Penalties (faults) result from either too fast or to slow a time. Faults also result from refusals, run-outs, being off-course, or not completing the course. Curently, four divisons are offered: General Course Specifications (subject to change)
